Saddle Club is by far our most popular program. This program gives kids supervised barn time while they uwind from the pre-mature pressures of the world
Bella Oaks Apprenticeships (The Bella Oaks Saddle Club) is a character shaping program that stands for the best sportsmaship and the best horsemanship. As a group, they learn good temper, good manners, and the joy of the horse. They learn to treat their horse like a partner, Bella Oaks Saddle Club fosters superb equestrians and lifelong frienships. It is a weekly lesson on a variety of horse related topics and issues. Specialists often drop by to share their expertise. This program gives our apprentices the true sense of horse ownership, without the expense, The students in this program enjoy the time they spend with the horses, the instructors and each other. Bella Oaks Apprentices get knowledge from top instructors including bathing, clipping, care of the horses, feed, tack, grooming, taking up the horse, haltering properly, ground work, cleaning, polo and other wraps. proper helmet fitting, and also learn proper care of horses, making sure their needs are met. The children are assigned a specific horse to care for their physical, mental and medical needs (with supervision)
Instructors collaborate on what the apprentices might need as a group and as individuals at the barn as well as in life. This partnership leads to physical, emotional and physiological growth. As a group, they attend educational events, horse-sales, expositions and group camping trips. Safety is top priority at Bella Oaks Saddle Clubs members receive full membership to all barn activities, sleep-overs and get to be part of the team to help at summer camp. Additional fees apply when traveling. Necessary Forms to bring. (I know it is a lot, but we need everything except camp information and a doctor’s note!)
Apprentices must wear leather boots to propect their feet from getting stepped on.
Note: Apprentices who are in weekly riding lessons may sponsor a horse.
